After the Oct. 7th massacre in Israel, our Atlanta Jewish Community was trying to figure out how we could help from afar. We became advocates on social media, standing against antisemitism and raising awareness for the atrocities, but we wanted to do more. So, when Weber’s in-house band “Broken Glass” came to us last spring, in 2024, with the idea of putting on a benefit concert, we knew this was just what our community needed to feel they were actually making a difference for Israelis. Members of The Leven Office staffed the event, greeting community members with programs; selling merch, locally made or donated concessions from the Weber Parent Group and The Cafe I Am, making mocktails inspired by Israeli drinks, and running a silent auction filled with incredible items from community donors, such as a wine tasting basket and gift card bundles. Through sales at the concert, community donors, and a $50,000 grant match from the Marcus Foundation, The Leven Office, and “Broken Glass” raised $100,000 for kibbutzim Nahal Oz and Nir Oz. 100% of the proceeds went to those kibbutzim, and one of them even used the money to rebuild their own music studio for teens. This event is one that The Leven Office will continuously be proud of and forever grateful to the community for their support and generosity. We will continue this amazing work with our second annual benefit concert this coming spring!
